Mindshare appoints Scott Sorokin as global head of digital

Media agency Mindshare has appointed Scott Sorokin as global head of digital to help boost the media agency’s global digital communications.

Sorokin, the former president of Carat and Carat Fusion, Aegis Media’s digital services agency, will be responsible for leading Mindshare’s global digital media initiatives for Unilever as well as working closely with Mindshare North America head Phil Cowdell and will also serve on Mindshare’s global executive committee.

He will be based in New York and will report to Mindshare Worldwide CEO Dominic Proctor.

Sorokin has previously held digital and creative roles at MRM Worldwide, Digitas, and Modem Media and was co-founder and MD of Grey Interactive Worldwide.

The appointment comes despite widespread job cuts within Mindshare’s holding company WPP (nma.co.uk 5 May 2009), but is in line with earlier reports which revealed digital revenues had grown to account for almost a quarter of WPP’s total revenues (nma.co.uk 6 March 2009).
