Heineken names new S&N UK chief

Heineken NV has appointed group commerce director Stefan Orlowski to head up Scottish & Newcastle UK as managing director.

Orlowski currently has global functional responsibility for Heineken Group’s commercial activities including marketing, sales, innovation and specific responsibility for the growth of the Heineken brand.

In his new role he will report to Didier Debrosse, regional president Western Europe and will join the Western Europe management team. His successor will be announced shortly.

S&N was acquired by Heineken in a joint £7.8bn deal with Carlsberg in April last year. Brands in its portfolio include Bulmers and Strongbow cider, John Smith’s Bitter and Kronenbourg 1664.

Orlowski says: “Over the last two years, the commerce function within Heineken has developed a robust approach to building brands, innovation and creating value. We have a clear framework for the long-term growth of our brand portfolios built around the Heineken brand and we have developed the competencies that support its delivery.”
