After reading about the launch of SimonSeeks.com (MW 18 June), I was impressed with how Simon Nixon has used the basic affiliate marketing concept in an inventive way to benefit every party – the consumer, merchant and himself (the affiliate).
The cost per acquisition (CPA) reward scheme already presents an attractive proposition for retailers, and user-generated review sites are a great way of converting online browsers into buyers. For anyone to prosper during the recession, they need to think outside the box. This is exactly what Simon has done, by taking these two proven marketing methods and combining them to drive traffic and sales to travel retailers and create revenue for consumers, while generating an income for himself.
The idea of potentially turning all consumers into affiliates is an exciting one.
