Unwins Seeds handed to TBWAManchester

Westland Horticulture has appointed TBWAManchester to its Unwins Seeds account following a competitive pitch.

Grow your own berries

TBWAManchester will initially be developing packaging and trade communications for this summer; consumer communications will then follow.

The work is expected to leverage the current economic environment that has seen an increase in gardening to “grow your own fruit and vegetables” and an emphasis on saving money.

Grow your own is a “major driving force” behind the 10% uplift in garden retail sales, as revealed last week by the Horticultural Trades Association Retail Management Group.

The TBWA/Manchester team has worked on other Westland brands such as Resolva. The company will work on the Unwins account alongside Resolva and the Syngenta brand.

Keith Nicholson, head of marketing for Westland Horticulture, said: “Following the success of the work on Westland’s Resolva brand campaign and the level of market insight and strategic thinking of the team, we have chosen TBWAManchester to work with us on Unwins.”
