Vodafone awards LBi digital strategy account
Vodafone, the UK’s second largest mobile operator, is understood to have appointed LBi to handle its global digital strategy.

It is believed to have won the account following a pitch. Activity is expected to include a major web build project for the company’s sites around the world.
Vodafone is currently reviewing its global media planning and buying business, estimated to be worth £200m. OMD currently handles the majority of the account in Europe.
In the UK, Carat was awarded the £55m account at the beginning of the year.
Elsewhere, the mobile operator is considering the acquisition of Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile business in the UK.
The move would make it the biggest mobile phone operator in the UK, ahead of Telefónica’s O2, which is now also understood to be eyeing up T-Mobile.
The latest developments follows recent speculation that Deutsche Telekom is under pressure from key shareholders to either sell or merge T-Mobile UK business with a rival company.
Vodafone and LBi were not available for comment at the time this story was published.
