The Drink Less, Miss Less campaign comes as the charity finds one in four adults drink more during summer months, and many are unaware of the effects on their body.

A series of high profile ambassadors are expected to support the campaign in the form of short films which will go out online, with the England cricketer being the first.

The video, which can be seen on the Drinkaware website, attempts to show the effects of drinking alcohol, which is a diuretic, in a humorous and light hearted way.

The Drinkaware site is also hosting a competition to win tickets to the Ashes as part of the campaign, as well as editorial around the tournament and behind the scenes content.

Last month the Home Office launched a viral campaign aimed at educating 18-24-year-olds about the dangers of drinking (nma.co.uk 8 June 2009), while Bacardi also rolled out a campaign featuring Michael Schumacher on the dangers of drink driving.
