Uniqlo moves media account into M2M

Uniqlo, the high-street clothing chain, has appointed M2M to handle its media planning and buying account following a pitch.

It is understood that the Omnicom-owned agency went up against several agencies, but it is not known if it included incumbents Naked which handled planning and the7stars which oversaw media buying.

The review was led by Uniqlo head of marketing, Amy Howarth.

Model Agyness Deyn is currently featuring in advertising and in-store promotions for the clothing chain.

Last year it launched a global advertising campaign to promote its “UT project”

It saw more than 700 t-shirts created by artists and designers sold in its stores. It was the first time the campaign had been extended around the world.

In the UK, the press and outdoor ads were created by US agency MP Creative.

Currently, Uniqlo uses Dentsu for all global advertising.

Howarth says it is planning to launch new marketing activity for the Autumn/Winter seasons.
