USwitch is launching a joint marketing initiative with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) that offers member clubs a cash incentive to use the comparison site.
Participating RFU clubs will receive cashback for every member, friend or supporter who switches energy supplier or personal finance provider through a co-branded site dubbed the “conversion zone” from September. The funds can be spent on kit or training equipment.
The RFU will launch a marketing campaign to promote the scheme to its members this month, including email activity, activation packs, a clubhouse poster campaign and ads in the RFU yearbook.
USwitch already has a partnership with the RFU through its Six Nations championship and advertising at the Twickenham stadium.
The utilities and personal finance switching service is up for sale. Its US owner is seeking a buyer that could add “more direct value to a comparison business”.
