Tesco dispenses money-off coupons via ATMs

Tesco has introduced money-off vouchers at ATMs for the first time to help customers save on their weekly shop as part of its “every little helps” strategy.

Customers will be able get a money-off coupon to redeem at Tesco simply by requesting a receipt every time they make a cash withdrawal, balance enquiry or mobile phone top-up at the cash machines at stores.

The coupons will be given out until July 22 and valid until July 31 and Tesco expects to give more than five million coupons to customers during the period.

There are 12 different discounts available on food items such as bread, vegetables, pasta and soup. They will be promoted by on-screen advertising running on the participating ATM screens.

As well as offering discounts on groceries Tesco will offer discounts on financial products such as travel insurance and breakdown cover.

The coupons will not b available in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and a few stores in the UK.

Matthew Dransfield, Tesco Personal Finance says, “The ATM network at Tesco stores is the third largest in the UK offering an accessible service for our customers. We are always looking at new ways to thank our customers and give something back to them, which is why we are trialling this coupon scheme.”
