Birds Eye names BBDO as European agency

Birds Eye has appointed BBDO to handle all of Birds Eye Iglo Group’s advertising in Europe.

Birds Eye products

The agency already handles Birds Eye’s advertising business in the UK after winning a competitive pitch in 2007 against Bartle Bogle Hegarty.

AMV.BBDO has developed the recent “Good Mood Food” campaign with Birds Eye featuring Madness singer Suggs. The frozen food company’s current UK campaign is under the banner “Take a Fresh Look at Birds Eye”.

The Europe win means that BBDO will handle advertising in six new markets- Germany, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Netherlands, France – as well as investigating development markets.

Birds Eye’s Chief Marketing Officer Alex von den Steinen says:

“This appointment marks the continued success of our relationship with BBDO. The great work which we have done with AMV in the UK to communicate the benefits of Birds Eye frozen food was a driving factor in our decision to extend the partnership and we are excited to extend this success across Europe.”

BBDO Dusseldorf will provide the lead and central co-ordination for the six new Iglo markets, in close co-operation with the Birds Eye team at AMV BBDO.

Birds Eye chief executive Martin Glenn spoke recently at the Marketing Week Live show where he outlined the challenges to the reputation of marketers both internally and with consumers.
