The LG Application Store is set for launch in Asia tomorrow and will offer 1,400 apps to download. It’s expected to be available in Europe by the end of the year, by which time it hopes to have around 2,000 apps.

The store will offer a mixture of free and paid-for apps.

LG is keen to replicate the success of the Apple App Store, which has achieved more than 1bn downloads of 56,000 apps in the 12 months since its launch in July 2008.
