MCCA appoints Suzanne Barnes

The Marketing Communication Consultants Association (MCCA) has recruited former Arc Worldwide client services director Suzanne Barnes to take the title people development consultant.

Barnes is a former MCCA board member and will take responsibility for consolidating the services the MCCA offers in professional and management development.

At Arc, she was responsible for the development of a new agency branding and management of the transition from IMP to Arc. She also managed the agency’s Fiat business.

Since leaving the agency in 2003, she has taken senior roles at a relocation and recruitment specialists, firstly as marketing director/operations director, and latterly as global managing director.

The MCCA has been investing heavily in helping members to train, engage and retain employees. Since January, a number of free training sessions have been offered to members and five more are planned for the immediate future.

Scott Knox, managing director at the MCCA, says: “As a not for profit organisation we think very carefully before we appoint people to our small team – and welcoming Suzanne is a direct response to what our members are telling us. It is more important than ever that agencies invest in their people, but we appreciate that they need support and guidance on the best way to do this. Suzanne has a wealth of experience – both from her time as an MCCA Board Member and at Arc, but also from outside our industry and she will truly elevate the support we can offer to members.”
