Britvic reports strong sales in UK

Britvic, maker of Tango and Robinson’s, is expecting to report full year profit ahead of market expectations thanks to strong performances in the UK and international markets.

In the third quarter to 5 July revenue totalled £249.1m, up 5.9% on the previous year.

In Great Britain and its international operations, revenue rose 11.6% to £209.4m, with strong sales for its Robinson’s and Fruit Shoot brands.

In contrast however, its business in Ireland saw sales volumes fall 20.3%. The soft drinks company says it reflected a “particularly challenging” May and June performance.

Chief executive Paul Moody says: “Britvic has continued to outperform the market in the latest quarter.”

In May, Britvic reported a 16.3% rise in pre-tax profit to £20m in the six months to April 12. It attributed the rise to the strong performance of its stills and carbonates brands

The company has this year been particularly active with the marketing of its flavoured carbonates drink Tango and has also recently launched a new ad campaign for its new Juicy Drench brand.
