Toyota GB drafts new marketing director
Toyota Great Britain has appointed John Thomson to the role of marketing director.

He returns from three years at Toyota Motor Europe (TME) where he was general manager, business planning and lean operations. He also worked as senior manager, marketing.
Thomson takes over from Mark Hall who has moved on to take up a position at TME.
Before heading to TME, Thomson was general manager, Lexus Operations between May 2002 to December 2005 in the UK.
He has also previously spent nine years at Citroën UK in a number of management roles, which included zone sales manager, fleet manager and network commercial manager.
Thomson says: “Current conditions in the UK market will undoubtedly present challenges for us, but we can face these positively and competitively with the line-up of Toyota Optimal Drive range of efficient engines and transmissions.”
He adds that the launch of Toyota’s third generation Prius in August should help boost its market position.
