The agency’s German team won the £120m account after a final head-to-head pitch against incumbent Omnicom and will become Daimler AG’s agency of record effective immediately.
The agency will be in charge of all media for the Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, AMG, Accessories and Corporate Daimler brands globally, and inherit an account which had a €144m (£123m) spend last year.
The account was in review since April and the pitch was handled by Billetts. It will be overseen by Birgit Konrad, Mediaedge:cia’s chief executive in Germany
Mercedes has recently unveiled its new E-Class Coupe car and is looking at hybrid technology for its S-Class series. The company is currently gearing up for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami, which starts tomorrow and runs until July 19.
The Mercedes-Benz brand was also named the top automotive brand in the Superbrands report, which was unveiled today.
