Mail Online surges ahead of

Associated Newspapers’ Mail Online has surged ahead of to become the leading newspaper site for the month of June, according to the latest ABCe figures.

Mail Online saw the biggest year-on-year growth among all the audited websites, up 83.41% to 29,373, 379, while also rising 19.22% month on month among total unique users.

It toppled Guardian News & Media’s from the number one spot which it had held for two months in a row. rose marginally by 6.52% month on month to 28,966,942.

Telegraph Media Group’s came in third with 27,175, 233, followed by News International’s with 25,062,845.

Meanwhile, sister site Times Online bettered its May performance, but only managed a 3.97% month-on-month rise to 21,216,797.

Mirror Digital Group continued to enjoy a huge year-on-year growth, albeit off a smaller base, rising 74% year on year to 9,442,900.

Independent News & Media’s was last, falling 2.31% month on month, though rising 29.61% year on year to 9,352,369.
