The Times recruits BSkyB marketer

News International has finalised its senior marketing team with the appointment of BSkyB marketer Alex Lewis as marketing director for The Times and The Sunday Times.

The appointment completes the team working under NI chief marketing officer Jeremy Schwartz. He was appointed in January to oversee all the NI titles.

Lewis, who held the title director of marketing for the BSkyB network, takes up the NI role previously handled by Katie Vanneck, who is now managing director of Customer Direct department with a remit to build direct customer relationships.

At the same time Schwartz was appointed, News Group Newspapers marketing director Roland Agambar, who oversaw The Sun and News of the World, left the company to join rival Associated Newspapers as chief marketing officer

His duties were briefly overseen by Allen McCaskill who left in June this year. Kirsty McAllister has since taken over as marketing director for the tabloid titles.
