Matt James u-turn leaves Yahoo without a sales director

Yahoo is again without a sales director as recently appointed candidate Matt James has decided against joining the internet giant.

Yahoo announced in June that James, the former MD of OMD International, was set to join the company. But new media age has learned he won’t after all.

A Yahoo spokeswoman confirmed, “After further consideration, Matt James has decided not to join Yahoo. We wish him all the best with his future endeavours.”

She wouldn’t comment on whether it will now begin a new search for a sales director.

James was promoted to MD of OMD International in March 2008, from global media director, having joined the company in 1997. He has also worked at WPP Group and communications agency Naked.

It’s not known whether he has another role to go to.
