Whole lotta love for Classic Rock

ABCs: Only heritage rock magazine Classic Rock has managed to stay buoyant within the traditional music titles, according to the latest ABC figures.

Classic Rock Magazine

The Future Publishing title saw average net circulation rise 5.5% year-on-year to 70,301 but stable mate Metal Hammer dropped 8.5% period-on-period and 5.2% year-on-year.

Rock weekly Kerrang!, published by Bauer Media, continued its drastic slide, down 28.3% year-on-year and 17.3% to 43,253.

IPC’s more broad-based music weekly, the NME, also dropped by 27.2% year-on-year and is now close to dropping below 40,000, with a recorded ABC of 40,948, providing a tough challenge for new editor Krissi Murison, who is due to take the reins next month.

However, the publisher has just posted the first six monthly ABCe report for nme.com, which saw an average across the period of 4,454, 983 monthly unique users.

Heritage monthlies Uncut, from IPC and Mojo, from Bauer Media, continued to slide with the former down 12% year-on-year and period-on-period to 76,526. The latter saw less of a fall, down 2.1% period-on-period, to 97,722.
