Burberry appoints BBH as strategic marketing partner

Luxury British fashion brand Burberry has appointed Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) as its strategic marketing partner.

BBH will be responsible for all marketing strategy at the fashion brand. The agency has been briefed to integrate Burberry’s global communication with customers, focussing on its digital and social media activity.

Creative work at the fashion brand will continue to be led by Burberry’s in-house creative director Christopher Bailey, who is responsible for the label’s global brand image.

Jon Peppiatt, deputy chairman of BBH, says: “Burberry is the most iconic British luxury brand with a global reach and an acute understanding of the power of heightening their brand experience via digital, mobile and social community platforms. There is huge opportunity in the luxury sector for those who understand the opportunities that new media provides in brand building and business growth for the future.

Emma Watson famed for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, is the newest face of Burberry, featuring in the press ads for the brand’s autumn/winter 09 collection.

Models previously used by the brand include Kate Moss, Lily Donaldson and Agyness Deyn.

Burberry operates 119 stores globally, as well as more than 380 concessions, outlets and franchises worldwide. The company posted an annual turnover in excess of £1.2bn pounds at 31 March.
