Fox will head up the Premier League club’s commercial operation following the recent departure of Adrian Ford and will report to chief executive Ivan Gazidis.

He will join in November from sports marketing agency Wasserman Media Group, where he worked on the company’s strategic partnerships.

Prior to Wasserman, Fox held a number of senior marketing and branding roles including senior vice president of sports and event marketing at Gatorade and sports marketing director for the Asia Pacific region at Nike.

He was also previously vice president and managing director of the National Basketball Association in Asia.

Fox’s appointment follows the arrival of Gazidis, a former US Major League Soccer deputy commissioner, at the end of last year. Gazidis is reportedly unhappy with and considering renegotiating the club’s shirt sponsorship deal with Emirates and kit deal with Nike.

The club recently launched a global direct marketing campaign to drive membership renewal.
