Marston’s launches triumphant final Ashes ad

Beer brand Marston’s, the official beer of the national cricket team, has unveiled the final press advertisement in its Ashes-themed ‘England Has It’ campaign to celebrate victory over Australia.

The ad, created by DLKW, states “Britannia Rules. Matilda Waltzes’ and forms part of a series of ads that have run throughout the five-test contest.

Prior to the first test in Cardiff, Marston’s launched press activity stating that “England has History. Australia has Previous”, while in the middle of the last and deciding test at The Oval it ran ads that said: “Australia’s best chance of drawing?’ with “Rolf Harris” offered as the answer.

England regained the Ashes yesterday (24 August) after a 197-run victory led to a 2.1 series win.

Buxton, the official mineral water of the team, ran press ads today (24 August) with a picture of some of the members of the England team next to the line “Thank you for the memories”.
