She takes up the role with immediate effect reporting to Giles Turrell, president of consumer Europe and will relocate from the US to London.

Underhill previously headed up the company’s North American tissue business after stints within Kimberly-Clark’s infant care and personal care departments in North America. She has held positions in marketing, research and operations within the company.

Underhill replaces Troy Warfield who earlier this month moved to head up the European Family Care division of the company.

She says: “While these are challenging times this is also a time of opportunity for trusted brands and innovative companies like Kimberly-Clark to prove their value to our customers and consumers.”

Kimberly-Clark recently reappointed Bezier Group to handle its retail marketing account for its personal care brands for a further two years.

The FMCG company’s advertising roster includes agencies Mindshare and JWT.

Tissue brand Kleenex launched a campaign earlier this summer using Twitter to create an online hay-fever map identifying hot spots for sufferers.
