Seat sings up as lead sponsor for Europa League

Seat is to be the main sponsor of the new Europa League after signing a three-year deal.

Fulham v FK Vetra

The Spanish car manufacturer is planning a widespread European awareness drive for its models and the deal with European football governing body UEFA will give the brand exposure at more than 200 matches each season between now and the end of the 2011-12 competition.

Seat will have its sponsorship material in place for Europa League matches played on or after 22 October.

It plans to introduce the 265 PS Leon Cupra R at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.

Teams competing in the Europa Cup this season include Everton, Fulham, Celtic and Valencia.

Head of marketing at Seat UK Steve Robertson says: “This builds on the existing football sponsorships we have here in the UK with Aston Villa, Stoke City and the Scottish FA. Over the next three seasons we will use this opportunity not only through programme advertising sponsorship on ITV4 and Five but also in promotional activity, to bring the association to life.”
