Edwards will join Future in December and report into chief operating officer Simon Wear.
He will be responsible for strengthening Future’s digital offer and the company’s shift in focus from print media to a cross-platform media business.
In his last role, Edwards was responsible for driving the company’s digital strategy and online and mobile advertising across Bauer’s consumer brands.
He joined Bauer, then Emap, in 2003 where his first role was in business development, interactive before becoming commercial advertising director of Kiss Radio. He was promoted to his current role in 2006.

In July the group appointed three marketers to its digital commercial team as part of a move to expand its digital operations.
