ASICS Europe appoints sales and marketing chief

Sportswear brand ASICS Europe B.V. has appointed former Clarks marketer Alistair Cameron to the newly created position of executive vice president sales and marketing.

Cameron is a former European general manager for Speedo International and New Balance. He left his role as managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for New Balance in March 2007 and most recently has worked at Clarks.

He joins the sports brand in mid-October with a remit is to further strengthen the brand and to execute ASICS’ growth plans for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Earlier this year ASICS launched a pan-European print campaign http://www.marketingweek.co.uk/in-depth-analysis/asics-puts-both-feet-forward/2064623.article with the strapline “What’s a left without a right?” for the ASICS SportStyle leisure footwear range. The campaign was created by Amsterdam Worldwide.
