Insurer Amlin to sponsor rugby union’s European cup

Specialist insurer Amlin is to become the title sponsor of rugby union’s European Challenge Cup to boost its efforts in developing the business on the Continent.

The company has signed a three- year deal with the European Rugby Cup (ERC), which will be rebranded as the Amlin Challenge Cup.
In addition, Amlin will become “premium partner” to the sport’s premier European club tournament, the Heineken Cup, alongside the beer brand, FedEx and EDF Energy.

The financial firm has also signed former England captain and London Wasps player Lawrence Dallaglio as a brand ambassador.
The company has been strengthening its business in Europe, recently acquiring corporate property and casualty insurer Fortis Corporate Insurance.

The Amlin Challenge Cup includes 20 top flight teams from six countries across Europe.
