Thomas Cook loses ecommerce director Russell Gould

Russell Gould, director of ecommerce for Thomas Cook Group, has quit the role.

Gould held the post for over two years and was responsible for steering Thomas Cook’s ecommerce strategy and led the redesign of the Thomas Cook site in 2008.

He was previously MyTravel director of digital marketing and has also served as head of ecommerce at Bradford & Bingley Group.

It is not known whether he has a job to go to.

Pete Constanti, CEO of Mainstream Travel, Thomas Cook UK & Ireland, said, “We can confirm that Russell Gould, director of ecommerce, has taken the decision to leave Thomas Cook. I’d like to thank Russell for his contribution to the development of our ecommerce proposition and wish him all the best for the future.”

Simon Robinson, MD of sales, will continue to manage the ecommerce division.

Gould declined to comment.
