Five brings back kids programming strand

Five, the RTL-owned broadcaster, is bringing back its children’s programming strand Shake! this Sunday (September 27) and has secured Disney as its sponsor.

Hannah Montana

The 11 to 1pm programming slot aimed at eight to 14 year olds, will feature Disney programmes Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Snobs and The Tribe.

The sponsorship deal will encompass Disney’s music, DVD and film properties. The brand will feature in ten second opening and closing credits and five second break bumpers.

The segment last ran in spring 2007 on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The broadcaster says it will initially air the programming strand on Sundays and then review whether or not to roll it out on Saturday mornings.

In other recent sponsorship activity, Research in Motion’s BlackBerry brand has signed its first European TV sponsorship deal in a tie-up with Five’s soon-to-be launched US drama series, FlashForward.

The series will air from next month and leads the broadcaster’s autumn line-up and stars British actors Joseph Fiennes and Jack Davenport.
