Gregory takes the title acting country manager while match.com reviews the current management structure.

Stockwood, who also oversaw match.com’s marketing before the appointment of Gregory at the start of the year, has been at the company since 2007, initially as international managing director.

Gregory is a former head of marketing for Yahoo! search.

Match.com was bought by Meetic, also owner of Datingdirect, in February this year for £4.43 million. It was previously owned by IAC, which also took a 27% stake in the business..

The dating site is currently reviewing its advertising agency arrangements. Hanft Raboy & Partners created the recent campaigns featuring the characters Cupid and Fate.

Competition in the online dating sector recently ramped up with the arrival of US giant eHarmony in the UK.
