Global Radio in ad and digital push

Global Radio has hired Karmarama to handle creative duties for 95.8 Capital FM and The Heart Network and is signalling a fresh digital push with the appointment of its first director of digital content.

The agency has been tasked with raising Heart’s profile nationally following the roll-out of the Heart brand across 33 stations earlier this year and building on recent audience gains made by London station 95.8 Capital FM.

The station saw its reach increase to 1.95m in the three months to June, up 4.5% on the first quarter according to Rajar data, leapfrogging Heart 106.2 to become London’s second most listened to commercial station behind Magic 105.4.

Separately, Global has hired Ben Perreau as its director of digital content across all radio brands.

The newly created position will see the former editor of NME.com responsible for all online audience, editorial strategy and content across stations including Heart, Classic, LBC and 95.8 Capital FM.
