British Gas targets non-customers in winter ads

British Gas is launching a winter campaign targeting non-customers to push the message that they don’t have to be a customer to call out one of its engineers in times of emergencies.

The utilities provider wants to promote its free phone number which customers and non-customers can use to access emergency boiler repair services.

The campaign follows on from the animated “Your World is your Home” campaign created for British Gas by CHI and Partners earlier this year.

It includes television, outdoor and bus adverts as well as direct mail activity and is planned to run for four weeks.

The 40-second TV spot breaks nationally tomorrow (7 October) and features a raft of British Gas vans heading out to carry out repairs at homes.

British Gas is backing British Swimming and has signed Olympic swimmer Rebecca Addlington to front a £15m sponsorship deal.

As part of the campaign the utilities provider is encouraging families to use local swimming pools with a free swim incentive.

Direct mail for the campaign was handled by Ogilvy, with media planning and buying handled by Carat.
