He will return to his homeland South Africa to join the Helios Investment Partners-led consortium bid for INM Outdoor, the outdoor advertising business which operates in 13 African countries. The company is currently owned by Independent News and Media.

Clear Channel Outdoor UK managing director Rob Atkinson will take on Sayer’s responsibilities while the outdoor company considers its “succession plans”, according to Clear Channel International president and CEO, William Eccleshare.

In June Eccleshare joined the outdoor media owner, moving from his role as CEO and chairman of global advertising agency network BBDO Europe. He has also previously been chairman and CEO of ad agency Young & Rubicam.

Clear Channel Outdoor is the world’s largest outdoor advertising company with close to one million displays in 49 countries across 5 continents.

In the UK it provides more than 60,000 advertising opportunities across its brands Clear Channel Billboards, Clear Channel Adshel and Clear Channel Pinnacle.
