Jazz FM to lift revenues through sponsorship

Jazz FM has launched a joint venture with home style website Mydeco.com to develop a style channel, as the digital-only station looks at new ways to boost revenues.

The channel features customised Mydeco content on the station’s website including interviews with jazz celebrities about their homes and Jazz FM presenters’ selections of items collected by Mydeco.

Richard Wheatley, chief executive of the station, says the venture is “the first in a series” of commercial partnerships that are about positioning the station and revenue generation. “We will look to partner with people who will enhance the Jazz FM brand,” he adds.

The station, which receives a significant proportion of its revenues through sponsorship, has agreed a number of commercial deals recently, including a Southern Comfort-branded Saturday evening show and a tieup with The Financial Times.
