Microsoft readies Windows 7 push

Microsoft is launching a major radio push for its new Windows 7 operating system following a deal with Global Radio.

The Jingle Bell Ball with Windows 7

As part of the deal, the technology company will be the headline sponsor of the 95.8 Capital Christmas pop concert, The Jingle Bell Ball with Windows 7.

In addition, Windows 7 activity will run across the radio group’s Heart Network.

Press advertisements for the event, which takes place at the O2 Arena on 5 December and will feature Lady GaGa and Lily Allen, will carry Microsoft branding as will the O2 Arena during the event.

Global Radio is also partnering with London Lite, the Ball’s media partner, a deal which includes advertising, editorial and on air activity.

The deal, developed by UM London, forms part of a wider promotional campaign for Windows 7, which is released on 22 October.

Last week, Global Radio hired Karmarama to handle creative duties for 95.8 Capital FM and The Heart Network.
