The Football Association (FA) has unveiled details of its sponsorship deal with Mars.

The five-year agreement sees the confectionary company becoming an official “supporter” of the English national team as well as an official supplier.

In addition, Mars will become the official confectionery supplier for Wembley Stadium from August 2010 through to July 2014.

Mars will also be involved in the FA’s “Get into Football” campaign, which aims to recruit “lapsed” male footballers over the age of 18.

The agreement follows the extension of the FA’s deal with Carlsberg, which sees the beer brand continue as the ‘Official Beer’ of both the England team and The FA Cup.

The brewer’s deal also includes Wembley Stadium, where Carlsberg will continue as beer pouring partner.

The FA is currently searching for a commercial director after Jonathan Hill left last month and a new title sponsor for the FA Cup after Eon announced it was not renewing its agreement with the association.
