The agencies won out in a pitch against ad agency and brand consultancy teams Euro RSCG and Conran Design, and DraftFCB and FutureBrand. Rapp had initially pitched with Interbrand.

Last month, Skype launched its first global advertising campaign in a partnership with CNN International’s nightly programme Connect the World.

The internet telephone company is sponsoring the show’s “Connector of the Day” segment and has exclusive advertising presence within its website and dedicated mobile WAP site.

A spot campaign, created by Albion, has also been designed to raise awareness of a range of Skype features including free video calls, its availability on mobile phones and its ability to connect calls to landlines and mobiles at home or abroad at low rates.

Neil Stevens, VP and GM of Skype’s consumer business, says: “It’s essential we communicate the Skype experience effectively on a global scale.”

The company will continue to work with incumbent agency Albion until the end of the year. The review process was managed by AAR.

Media is being handled by Manning Gottlieb OMD. It was not affected by the review.
