Global names marketing head for leading stations

Global Radio has appointed UKTV marketer Sara Holt to the newly created position of head of marketing for the Classic FM, LBC and Galaxy brands.

She will be responsible for marketing strategies across the three brands and report to group marketing director Giles Pearman.

Holt takes over marketing responsibilities at talk radio station LBC and Classic FM from Charlotte Rosier, who also looked after Gold and has left the company to move to Singapore. Pearman had previously led marketing for Galaxy.

A spokeswoman for Global says the role was created to ensure the three stations “remain strong and can drive forward”.

The appointment comes amid a flurry of marketing activity from Global that has seen the appointment of Karmarama to handle creative duties for 95.8 Capital FM and the Heart network and the launch of the biggest ever marketing campaign for Classic FM.

Holt joins from UKTV where she headed up marketing for the recently relaunched portfolio of factual channels including Eden, Blighty and Yesterday.

The broadcaster has promoted Gold marketing manager Emily Latham to replace Holt.

Dave marketing manager Julia Restall will now oversee Gold.
