T-Mobile to drive share in business market

T-Mobile UK has appointed former Vodafone marketer Max Taylor to be head of business marketing as part of its strategy to grow its share in the business market.

Taylor will join the Deutsche Telekom-owned mobile operator at the end of the month and work alongside the head of business sales, Neil Pickersgill.

Taylor was previously at Vodafone where he worked with the global business marketing team.

Prior to that he was at Dolby in the US where he was segment director for mobile, which saw him leading sales and marketing efforts.

He has also previously worked at Orange for five years where he held a number of roles, including head of 3G and convergence marketing and head of SME proposition development.

T-Mobile UK chief marketing officer Srini Gopalan, says: “Max joins us at a point in time when we are gearing up our efforts to offer greater value to the business community. Only last month, we launched Business Unlimited, the only business tariff to give users unlimited UK calls and texts for £30 a month.”

Last month, T-Mobile and France Telecom’s Orange announced plans to merge and become the UK’s biggest mobile operator.

The deal, if approved by regulators, would see current market leader Telefonica’s O2 pushed into second place, followed by Vodafone in third place.

T-Mobile has this year launched a major ad campaign called “Life’s for Sharing”.
