The partnership will see LG and Fox joining forces on a national television and online campaign. The trailer for the Avatar film is alsopre-loaded to the handset, which features a 4-inch wide-screen with HD resolution.

LG is offering consumers the chance to win tickets to the world premier of the film in London on 18 December by creating their own 3D avatar on the technology company’s website.

John Barton, sales and marketing director at LG’s mobile division, says the collaboration demonstrates the “future of entertainment” with content creators and providers working together to create an experience that “extends beyond just the theatre-going audience”.

This week, LG signed a 12-month deal with The Times and The Sunday Times to sponsor its supplements, including the Culture magazine, in an effort to strengthen its association with the UK film industry.
