Lewis was previously managing partner of the Poulters marketing agency, which was acquired by instore marketing agency Bezier in 2006.

She says that her appointment signals the company’s ambition to continue to grow as a major force.

“It recognises the vital role that marketing and particularly consumer marketing will play in achieving our goals.”

Tangerine bought the Monkhill confectionary company from Cadbury Schweppes in a £58m deal in 2008

The privately owned company owns the, Barratt, Mojo, Taveners Proper Sweets and Princess Marshmallows brands and makes classic sweets including the Sherbet Fountains, Dip Dabs, Flumps, Fruit Salads and Black Jacks.

Earlier this year, the company updated the iconic paper packaging of the Sherbert Fountain in favour of a more hygienic plastic pack.

Lewis added: “With a fantastic array of iconic brands, some really exciting new product and packaging innovations on the horizon, plus a real commitment to consumer brand support, there couldn’t be a better time to join Tangerine.”
