BSI recruits Ann Francke

BSI Group, the global standards, certification and assessment provider, has recruited veteran marketer Ann Francke to take the new position of managing director of global customer and product strategy.

The independent body provides testing and certification of products for Kitemark and CE marking to UK, European and international standards.

Francke will oversee four departments, including that headed by director of group marketing and communications Frank Post.

Francke is a former global general manager of new business development for Procter & Gamble, a former chief marketing officer at Yell and strategic marketing director at Boots. She left Yell in the middle of an advertising agency review in July 2006.

She is currently the president, and co-founder, of online organic beauty emporium beautorium.com.

She reports to BSI chief executive Howard Kerr.

BSI positions itself as the world’s first national standards body and has more than 2.300 staff operating in more than 120 countries and 50 global offices.

It was founded in 1901 as the Engineering Standards Committee.
