TBWA Europe appoints Harwood-Matthews

TBWA Europe has appointed Robert Harwood-Matthews as president TBWA Group UK replacing current president Tim Lindsay.

Harwood-Matthews (pictured) has held several national and international management positions within TBWA, including responsibility for the PlayStation Europe and the global Infiniti business. He will report directly to Perry Valkenburg, President Europe and COO International.

Valkenburg says: “We have to thank Tim Lindsay for everything he has done for TBWA over the last years. He is well respected in the industry. Tim managed to regroup our London based companies around Media Arts and Disruption, and leaves the company in a good position. We wish him all the best for his future.”

Harwood-Matthews started in Y&R’s media department in 1994 and has worked at JWT and Publicis.

He joined TBWA in 2002 as partner, responsible for PlayStation UK and ultimately Europe and led Nissan GB, Virgin and was promoted to Managing Partner and Client Services Director in 2006.

That same year he moved to BDH as CEO and oversaw the creation of TBWAManchester, a combined Tequila/Digerati/BDH set up. On his watch, TBWAManchester won over 20 pieces of new business including ghd, BP Retail, Manchester United and Electronic Arts.

He relocated last year to Los Angeles to establish the luxury group practice for TBWA’s global Infiniti business.
