DCSF appoints WCRS for diplomas campaign

The Department of Children, Schools and Family (DCSF) has appointed WCRS to develop a television campaign to help promote diplomas.

The appointment follows a four-way pitch managed by the Central Office of Information (COI).

The diploma is a two year learning programme offered in schools and colleges. The programme is based on broad occupational sectors combining theoretical and work-related learning and aims to give 14-19 year olds a fully rounded education.

The new TV advertisements will run in January 2010 with the aim of raising awareness and interest of the qualification across England.

A recent DCSF campaign promoting diplomas was ruled misleading by the Advertising Standards Authority. The radio and press campaign stated that the diplomas were accepted “by all universities” but this could not be substantiated.
