Mindshare wins pharma giant’s global digital and media accounts
Mindshare has won the global digital and media account for pharmaceutical giant Boehringer Ingelheim, estimated to be £50m.
The WPP-owned agency took the brief as part of a competitive pitch.
Boehringer Ingelheim has its headquarters in Germany and its product range includes Pharmaton Vitamins, Bisolvon cough syrup and Buscopan abdominal pain remedy.
Previously it used a series of digital and media agencies but decided in August to review its marketing servives providers.
In the UK the company is to launch a product for premenopausal women, which is being handled by Delaney Lund Knox Warren and Pan Advertising.
Boehringer Ingelheim is structured into two main business areas: human pharmaceuticals and animal health.
The company faces challenges in advertising its non-consumer products due to global regualtions on promoting prescription drugs to the public and faces challenges from competitor companies including Johson & Johnson and Bayer.
Boeringer Ingelheim wasn’t available for comment.
