999 is tasked with refreshing the brand’s European marketing and will develop marketing campaigns for the Lee Cooper’s autumn/winter 2010 collection.

The consultancy will also create look books and trade catalogues to support the brand’s Original’s and Red Diamond line.

The brand was previously owned in the UK by value clothing retailer Matalan and was bought by US based Sun Capital Partners in 2005.

Andy Dunkley, European managing director of Lee Cooper, says there are a number of marketing initiatives in the pipeline.

“The Lee Cooper brand has been a prevalent force in the global jeans market for more than 100 years. We have incredible authenticity and expertise in denim and can boast a loyal consumer following. We selected 999 based on their integrated approach, strong visual concepts and eagerness to get under the skin of our brand.”

To celebrate its centenary last year, the brand revealed a new logo, designed by Ora Ito, a specialist in interior and technical design and a range of clothing based on Origami.
