Absolute Radio launches iTunes tagging service

Absolute Radio has launched a service for listeners which will allow them to ‘tag’ songs they hear on the station, find out what the track is called and who it’s by and then purchase it through the iTunes store.

The digital player’s nano version now features a built-in FM radio with iTunes Tagging and when users hear a song they like on Absolute Radio on 105.8FM in London, they can now tag it, and then preview and purchase that song when they next log on to iTunes.

Absolute Radio DJ Christian O’Connell said, “Never again will people face the humiliation of trying to sing a song to their friends that they don’t know the name of. We can all be clued up music experts at the touch of a button and the new tagging service is such a simple but genius idea.

“You can tag songs on the go then put off doing boring jobs at the weekend by creating a playlist of your favourites and downloading the tracks you like,” added O’Connell.

Absolute Radio partnered with Unique Interactive, part of UBC Media, and Jump2Go for the initiative.
