Muller expected to call BTL ad review

Muller is expected to call an advertising pitch looking for a below-the-line agency on its Fruit Corner, Light and Rice products.

TBWA/London is the incumbent on the account. The agency does all of Muller’s advertising, except the above-the-line activity.

It is understood the review will not begin until the new year. A spokesperson for Muller refused to be drawn on the issue saying the agency will continue to work for the brand “for the foreseeable future”, adding, “at present, there are no live advertising competitive pitches for the Müller Dairy business “

TBWA won the combined £14m Muller account in 2004 following a pitch against M&C Saatchi, Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO and HHCL/Red Cell.

Since then, it has launched a number of campaigns for the Corner range, most of which are accompanied by the Nina Simone track Ain’t Got No/I Got Life. It is understood that the agency’s chief executive, Matt Shepherd-Smith has recently resigned from the agency, just a month after its UK group president Tim Lindsay left the agency.

In January, Muller appointed VCCP to its £8m Muller Corners advertising account following a pitch. The agency pitched against incumbent TBWA/London and The Red Brick Road. The agency also won the £4m advertising account for Muller Rice the following month.

Marketing director Chris McDonough oversaw the appointments.
