Big Brother maker’s marketing chief steps down

Big Brother producer Endemol is to restructure its marketing function following the departure of its marketing chief.

Paul Johnson, head of marketing and brand partnerships, is to leave in the new year and his responsibilities passed to chief commercial officer Tom Toumazis.

A spokesman says there are no immediate plans to replace Johnson although the decision could be reviewed in the future.

Johnson took up what was described as a new role in January. He was responsible for developing relationships with global brands and growing its brand partnership division and oversaw all marketing and communications.

Endemol is a global network of 80 companies in 26 countries including the USA, the UK, Spain, Italy, France, Germany and the Netherlands,

It also makes Deal or No Deal, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Star Academy and Wipeout.

The company recently bought independent producers Tiger Aspect, Darlow Smithson and Tigress from IMG.
