MediaCom to handle WKD brand

Beverage Brands has appointed MediaCom to manage the media buying for alcohol ready-to-drink brand WKD and WKD Core Apple Cider.

The agency takes over the accounts from John Ayling Associates. However, Beverage Brands says that it will continue to work with JAA on “other brand opportunities.”

MediaCom will take up the appointment from May 2010.

Debs Carter, marketing director of Beverage Brands, says: “We review our brand strategy regularly and on an ongoing basis and believe MediaCom is well aligned to deliver our future needs for the WKD brand.”

Jane Ratcliffe, chief executive officer of MediaCom, says: “We are delighted that MediaCom has been appointed as the media planning and buying agency for WKD. We are really excited to be tasked with helping the Beverage Brands team continue to further the success of WKD.”

In July Beverage Brands launched a sensible drinking outdoor campaign under the bannner “Look after your mates”.
